California’s walnut industry will harvest a record crop of nuts this year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The agency predicts the 2010 yield to be 510,000 short tons, a 17 percent increase over 2009’s crop of 437,000 and more than double crop production from the year 2000. – (AHN)
