Strong storms swept across the Northeast Thursday, possibly spawning tornados and wreaking pockets of devastation. Winds estimated at 60 to 80 miles an hour toppled hundreds of trees and knocked out power for thousands in the region, delayed trains and sparked numerous small fires. – (AHN)
