Former gym teacher who inspired rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd’s name dies in north Florida

Leonard Skinner, the basketball coach and gym teacher who inspired the name of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, died Monday in Florida, his daughter said.
