There are still many parts of the country where regular broadband (DSL, Fiber, Cable) is simply not available. For people in those parts of the country, satellite-based broadband via HughesNet, at a whopping $120 a month, is the only (and last) resort (2Mbps down / 300Kbps). This could change with the launch of HugheNet’s Jupiter satellite in 2012.
