The mobile market is heating up in a big way. Apple, Google, Microsoft, RIM and several other companies are vying for consumer and enterprise dollars in that space with varying degrees of success. It seems certain that these companies will continue to drive innovation and, perhaps most importantly, growth in both the smartphone and tablet markets in the years ahead. Simply put, those firms are integral to the future of mobility.
But they’ve also been integral to mobility over the past year. In fact, 2010 was a year that was marked by significant changes in the mobile space, driven by companies like Apple and Google.
