It’s possible that Apple didn’t really mean what this message comes across as, but it’s also possible that Steve Jobs, who famously uttered that the 7-inch tablets that have come out recently would be DOA, really meant it this way. If you remove the iBooks app (which is free) from your iPad, you receive a warning that you won’t be able to read e-books on the device.
