BARCELONA ? As the battle for market share in the tablet space heats up, LG is throwing down the gauntlet, offering a tablet with a 3D camera, as well as the worlds first 3D-capable smartphone. Googles Android 3.0 platform and the Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile processor power the Optimus tablet (sold as the G-Slate in the United States). LG President and CEO Jong-seok Park said with a flood of tablets hitting the market, the company felt strongly that the LG Optimus Pad needed to set a new standard for what a tablet should be. The handset offers a dual-lens 5-megapixel camera, which the Optimus 3Ds 4.3-inch WVGA display uses to display 3D content without the use of special glasses.
