It was previously speculated that Handoff, the new “Continuity” feature shipping with both iOS 8 and Mac OS X Yosemite would require the more recent Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) specification, and new evidence seen in the second beta of Yosemite released today suggests that that may be the case.
